380-1Yingguangping (Premix Glass Beads for Composites – 30-80 Mesh, Fluorescent (0.6-0.18 mm)) is a premix glass bead for engineered composites, made by Yongqing Linghang Glass Bead Co., Ltd. in Hebei, China. The bead is blended into the resin mix before casting, rather than dropped on top of a cured surface. Once the part is demoulded and the surface is polished back, the beads act as tiny lenses that return light to its source. This is the principle behind retroreflective traffic signs, reflective fabric prints, artificial stone countertops, and decorative cast resin panels.
This grade is sized at 30-80 mesh (0.6-0.18 mm). The mesh range is selected so the bead sits just below the polished surface without being torn out during grinding; finer fractions give a smoother surface appearance, coarser fractions give a brighter retroreflective signal at the cost of a slightly rougher surface texture.
Applications
- Retroreflective cast resin signs and panels (RM-PLUS style and similar).
- Engineered quartz and marble slabs with reflective sparkle for countertops.
- Reflective printing inks and textile coatings.
- This fluorescent variant is formulated to charge under daylight or UV and re-emit in the visible band, increasing signal visibility beyond plain white retroreflection.
- Decorative terrazzo and architectural panels where sparkle or night visibility is desired.
Standards & Quality
- Soda-lime glass, chemically inert with common casting resins (polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy).
- Roundness ≥80%, oil absorption low, no free alkali that could cloud the cured resin.
- Bulk density approx. 1.5 g/cm3, refractive index R.I. 1.5.
